Busy, Busy, Busy

Two years olds are very busy people.

Grace seems to hit the floor running each morning. She climbs out of bed, goes and gets her "bugs" (that's panties to the rest of us. They have cute little bugs on the front and name the days of the week.), then marches into the bathroom. After that, it's off to the kitchen for some breakfast. A busy girl needs fuel you know. Sometimes it's hard to keep her in her seat. She is very anxious to start her day.

Recently, her favorite things with which to play are her dishes and kitchen. She drags stuff all over the house; plates, bowls, cups, skillets, spoons, etc. She's determined that Sam can play with them also. She also tries to feed Charlie, our cat.

Charlie is a whole 'nother subject. That poor cat. Grace chases him up and down the hallway. She climbs up on the couch to grab at him through the curtains. She tries to sit on him when he's sleeping on the floor. She always seems surprised when Charlie bites her on the head. I don't feel too sorry for him, however. He can always hide if she gets too bad. I sometimes think he actually likes it.

Grace is still crazy about her baby brother. She likes to sit on my lap while he's having a bottle and help feed him. He's recently begun grabbing things, whatever he can get his hands on. He really likes to get his hands on Grace. He grabs her nose, or ears, or hair, or whatever, and she just smiles and thinks it's great. I wonder how long that will last?

Speaking of Sam, he's going to be her little brother in name only. At her two year check up Grace weighed 24 pounds. Sam was at the doctor last Friday. He weighs over 23 pounds and he's only 5 months old! But when I consider that she weighed less than 18 pounds when we got her a year ago, it's absolutely amazing how much she's grown.
