Two years ago, Grace was born in a place we will likely never know. Was it a hospital or a home? Was it in the city or the country? Were there lots of people, or just the few who were needed? Lots of questions that really don't matter. I do know, that before any of this happened, she was born into our hearts.
The year before her birth into this world, God put a burden on Ranelle's and my heart to have another child. But this was not going to be a journey like we had before, with lamaze, doctor's visits, and last minute labor. No, this was a journey of love, paperwork, time and distance. Both have similar characteristics. You can draw many analogies if you like, and examine each step that is taken. But there is no comparing the two. Is one a better path than the other, no. Is one done with more {love, effort, joy, peace, cost, forethought, whatever}, no. They are two very different journeys to the same end. A multiplication of love results.
Today, we had a party for Grace. We invited many, but not all of her friends. It was a tough choice, because she's still at that stage where too much can be overwhelming. If you weren't invited, please do not feel slighted. We had to make the best choice for Grace. Of those that were invited, most were able to come, some came a bit late, while others had other places they had to be. Nevertheless, we had a good crowd. Grace got to be fawned over, and she got to show off. She enjoyed her cake, ice cream, and snacks, and later opened presents. It was a big day, and this year, we got to celebrate with her.
May God bless us with many more days of celebration.
