Because It's Not Really a Holiday Until Someone Vomits

We had a really great Independence Day at our house.

Our pastor preached an awesome message about spiritual independence, and about our founding fathers and their faith in God. Lunch was at Tumbleweed (kids eat free on Sundays), and home for nap time! While they napped, I watched Independence Day for probably the 937th time. After the kiddos got up, we watched some old Schoolhouse Rock episodes: The Preamble , Fireworks , and The Shot Heard Round the World. Plus No More King. Mike and I love these, our children, not so much. But, that's one of the perks of being the parents...

After supper we loaded up to go watch some fireworks. Grace had been waiting for this since the last time we went. They were so good and so patient while we waited. It probably helped that Mike had ordered some glow sticks for them to play with. We "oooh-ed" and "aaawwww-ed" repeatedly at the beautiful lights filling the air.

Everything went well until we were almost home and Sam threw up. Do you know how difficult it is to clean up vomit in the dark?!

Hope ya'll had a great 4th.
