Today we celebrated Christmas 2004, and Grace's 1st birthday. We didn't have a tree or get the cake out, but we did open presents. Grace loved it.
Of course she preferred the bows to most anything else. She also found that she can bang her block-things together, and that is lot's of fun. She got her fist dolls, a water baby and a porcelain doll. She also got her 'baby's first Christmas' ornament. I think we enjoyed it all as much as she, and when she's happy, we're happy.

Yesterday, we also got her a walker. In the referral, we were told she would walk if you held her hands. We have not seen this ability. However, she has experience in the walker. In seconds, she was wondering around the kitchen, turning corners, and turning around when needed. I do not know if something was just lost in translation, or what. We are planning to take up the carpet (we had already discussed it for other reasons) so she, and her next sibling, can run through the house like a terror. (yes, we are stupid).

You guys are not stupid! You've just become one of those crazy parents who does whatever they have to do to keep the baby happy!
At least you already had it planned to rip up the carpet before. Grace has just given you a reason to stop putting it off! lol
She looked so very happy opening her gifts. It is so sweet that you planned that and she had something to open even though Christmas and her b-day are both over. That was really neat and a good idea. I bet she loved every minute of it. Keep up the good work of parenting.
